DISCLAIMER: This is a sponsored post, written by me, on behalf of #HillshireNaturals. I was paid for my time, but not my opinion. Everything in this post, is my original work. Being a Mom is a tough job, sometimes. With all the places we have to be, all the things we have to do, the boo-boos we have to mend, both physical and those you can't see, all the schedules we have to remember and the lessons we have to teach, all the clothes we have to wash and tears we have to dry and Oh yeah, don't forget to come up with something amazing for dinner and if you still have little ones, you will definitely have to feed them lunch, whether they eat it at home, or take it to school, kids like to be fed, on a somewhat regular basis... the nerve, huh? While I can't give you tips on fixing all your "Mommy" problems, I can help you, with lunch. (with a little help from #HillshireNatuals lunch meat) It's hard to find something the little one will eat, for lunch, that's not sandwich related. He likes peanut butter and ham best, but what kind of Mom would I be, if I only fed him ham and peanut butter... a sane Mom, that's what kind. Wait, don't call the authorities just yet. I don't feed him just your average ham sandwich. I feed him a super duper, Iron Man pocket sandwich, with all natural honey roasted ham, from Hillshire Farm's new "Naturals" line, which contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives, colors or added nitrites/nitrates. (Except those occurring naturally in celery juice)

With school being back in full swing, Moms everywhere are looking for breakfast ideas that are quick and easy and this one is perfect. You can even make several batches ahead of time and freeze them. Which sounds like a good idea, in theory, but mine usually don't last long enough to worry about having to store them.
I mentioned this yummy cookie/muffin-like thingy on my Facebook page, a few days ago and several people asked me for the recipe, so here it is.

With three growing tummies to feed and a "tighter than I would like" budget, any recipe that goes a long way, for a little bit of cash, is worth trying at least once and if I can find the ingredients on sale... Double score! Check it out... this Ragu pasta sauce is part of Kroger's new lower price initiative that has dropped prices on thousands of items, store-wide and at this price, you can snag a few and stock up for easy, budget friendly recipes, like this Pizza Casserole. It's one of my kids' favorites and it also keeps well, for lunch the next day. DISCLOSURE: This is a sponsored post, written by me, on behalf of Dasani, however, all opinions are my own. "What makes you sparkle?" It seems like an easy enough question, but when I sat down to write this post, it wasn't quite so easy to answer. What does make me sparkle? I stewed over this question all day, trying to figure out what to write, but came up with nothing. As the day progressed, I went about my daily chores and duties, but in the back of my mind was that question. . . "What makes you Sparkle?". It surely wasn't the nasty dishes I just loaded into the dishwasher. It wasn't the skid marked preschooler's tighty whities I just had the pleasure of scrubbing. It wasn't the thirty minutes I spent looking for my (grown) son's work shirt. It wasn't the 3 inches of scum that I had to scrub off of the boy's pool, in order for him to go swimming, when I would have much rather been inside, in the cool air conditioned house. It wasn't any of those things, but as I was sitting there, griping to myself, under my breath, about having to clean out the pool, Micah came and sat down in front of me and said "Thank You, Mommy", without being prompted or reminded. My heart melted and it was at that moment I was sure I had my answer. . . that smile, it's what makes me Sparkle! It's knowing that even though it doesn't seem like a big deal, every crappy little thing I do, is making a difference in these kids' lives. Even though they don't appreciate all the nasty stuff I do to make their life (halfway) comfortable, one day they will and it is for that day, I do the crappy stuff and when I get overwhelmed or burned out, that little smile has an uncanny way of brightening my entire day.
This super simple, 4 ingredient smoothie is so easy. It's perfect for early mornings when you really don't know what day it is or even care. Grab some frozen fruit (bananas and fresh cut pineapple), throw it in the blender with some milk and a spoon-full of coconut syrup and bam, you've got a good, healthy breakfast that even the little ones will enjoy.
