DISCLAIMER: This is a sponsored post, written by me, on behalf of #HillshireNaturals. I was paid for my time, but not my opinion. Everything in this post, is my original work. Being a Mom is a tough job, sometimes. With all the places we have to be, all the things we have to do, the boo-boos we have to mend, both physical and those you can't see, all the schedules we have to remember and the lessons we have to teach, all the clothes we have to wash and tears we have to dry and Oh yeah, don't forget to come up with something amazing for dinner and if you still have little ones, you will definitely have to feed them lunch, whether they eat it at home, or take it to school, kids like to be fed, on a somewhat regular basis... the nerve, huh? While I can't give you tips on fixing all your "Mommy" problems, I can help you, with lunch. (with a little help from #HillshireNatuals lunch meat) It's hard to find something the little one will eat, for lunch, that's not sandwich related. He likes peanut butter and ham best, but what kind of Mom would I be, if I only fed him ham and peanut butter... a sane Mom, that's what kind. Wait, don't call the authorities just yet. I don't feed him just your average ham sandwich. I feed him a super duper, Iron Man pocket sandwich, with all natural honey roasted ham, from Hillshire Farm's new "Naturals" line, which contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives, colors or added nitrites/nitrates. (Except those occurring naturally in celery juice) The new line of naturals products, from Hillshire Farm, has allowed me to actually eat ham again, without cussing and crying. Wait, what?! Yes! Let me explain... For quite a while now, I have had some "minor" stomach distress, every time I eat lunch meat. I wasn't really sure what was causing it, I just knew it had to stop, so I changed my diet and left ham behind and the issues stopped. I just assumed it was due to changes in my system or something and I relegated ham to my past, until now. A few months ago, my Mom and I were talking and I told her about the issues I was having with lunch meat and she proceeded to tell me about a story she read, about all the nasty preservatives, in our food (especially lunch meat), causing "issues" for people. She recommended I try a brand she bought, because it was supposed to be better (really expensive deli ham), so I did and I still had "issues". When I got the opportunity to try the new products, I was hopeful, but a bit skeptical too. Would I really be able to eat this or would it get Guinea pig'd on the kids first? After our weekly trip to ogle the "People of Walmart" and grab some groceries, we headed home to fix lunch... ham sandwiches for all... except Mom. Ok, ham sandwich for Micah, no one else was all that excited about ham, but him, so I made him one of his faves... ham, "sprinkle" cheese, spinach and ranch, in a pita pocket. Yes, my 4 year old eats spinach, willingly and Yes, I do hear Angels singing every time, but I digress. Out of curiosity, I tried the ham, fully hoping not to cramp up and die, right then and there and whaddya know, I didn't. Die or cramp up. I actually went back and fixed myself a nice, big, healthy, Iron Man pocket sandwich, myself and I ate it all. Without dying. I was a little more excited, than I am willing to admit to, in a public forum. It is safe to say, I might have a new love affair... with HAM! Dear Ham, I sure did miss you. I am so glad we have been reunited and I can't wait to eatcha' some more. Thank you for not making me wish I were dead. Love you! Love, Me!
