Zaycon Foods Chicken Update + Recipe

  A few weeks ago, I told you about all the awesome deals you can get on fresh, quality meats and produce, from Zaycon Foods.  Zaycon Foods is an awesome service that brings you farm fresh, never frozen, all natural, no hormone added chicken, meats, farm fresh milk and produce products. All Zaycon chicken is brought straight from the farm to you.
 
  I mentioned, in my previous post, this would be my first Zaycon experience and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. From the ordering, all the way to the actual pickup, the process was completely painless and the chicken is amazing!

  The morning of the pickup, Mike, my husband arrived promptly at the scheduled start time and was met with a small line. He was afraid it was going to take forever and called me, bugging out a little bit. He was about eight or nine cars back and was due at work in about 20 minutes.

  Much to his surprise, the entire wait time was about 10 minutes and he made it to work with a few minutes to spare.

  When it was Hubby's turn, the nice "chicken guy" placed a plastic bag in the back of our trunk area, in case the box leaked and quickly loaded the 40 lbs of farm fresh chicken into our car. Hubby didn't even have to get out. Easy peasy. It was kind of like a drive thru... if a drive thru served farm fresh chicken.

  This is what 40 lbs of fresh chicken looks like, still in the box. It was very well wrapped, inside of two or three inner bags, as to not leak during transport. When hubby arrived home, I was super excited to get to work, processing the chicken into smaller, more workable portions. All Zaycon chicken is straight from the farm to you. The chicken is delivered in its original wholesale packaging. Each unit (case) contains 4, 10lb bags of boneless skinless chicken breasts with a total weight of 40lbs.

   The chicken breasts are large, but they are 100% natural. There are no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients. They are large because they have not been trimmed up like you would see in the grocery stores. A double-lobed pair of chicken breast can weigh over 1lb a piece.

  The picture above shows exactly how much I had to trim, which was not too much, considering it was 40 lbs of chicken that needed to be processed, it was a relatively small amount of fat.

  I was very impressed with my first Zaycon Foods experience and I can't wait to place my second order.
