I am so excited with the way some toys are being made nowadays. Toy manufacturers are mixing the old school, tried and true toys from the past, with just enough of the technology we have become so dependent on, to make it fun. The result is a fun, learning toy with a classic design we all know and love. DISCLAIMER: I was provided with one complimentary Go! Go! Smart Wheels Train Station playset to facilitate this review and I was allotted one to give away as part of a marketing campaign. I am not responsible for shipment of the prize. VTech's Go! Go! Smart Wheels Train Station playset is the perfect mix of old and new. It can be configured several different ways, with the 15 feet of interchangeable track pieces. It features a fun, motorized, engine, that says several different phrases, as it chugs along the tracks, passing each of the 9 SmartPoint locations. It also has a cargo car that stops along the way and picks up its load. This train set teaches several important concepts... colors, time, role play and even foreign language. The train comes with "try me" batteries, which run out super fast, so you'll need a total of 5 "AAA" batteries, in order to avoid one very disappointed kid. I am like a guy when it comes to putting things together, so of course I didn't read the directions, I just looked at the box and it went together without any major hiccups, but I suggest setting it up when the kids are asleep, because they might wanna "help" and this is more of a grown up job. It took me about 15 minutes to get it fully set up with batteries in the guard tower and all. The only "con" I could find with this train station, is the amount of room it takes up. It might be the way I chose to configure it and I'm sure if you left some pieces out, it would take up less space, but fully assembled, it is rather large. Luckily I have plenty of extra room in my kitchen floor. Micah has been playing with his new train set every day since I let him open it. Around our house, goodies are earned, not given freely. Some things Micah can do to earn goodies... doing especially well on potty training, helping with chores, being kind, picking up your toys, being super cute, getting hit in the head with a storm door by your sister, etc. With Christmas right around the corner {yes, I have been outside lately, I knows it's 150 degrees outside}, this would make an excellent gift for the little one in your life and the nice folks at VTech would like to give you a chance to win a Go! Go! Smart Wheels Train Station of your very own. Check out the super easy Rafflecopter form below to get your entries in! GOOD LUCK!
