Honestly, I wasn't really sure what to expect, as I had never been to a corn maze before... yeah, yeah, I know. Now, I know how much fun it is, I will make it a family tradition. We had soooo much fun, even my 18 yr old daughter had a blast. She invited a few friends she hadn't seen since she went off to college and we made it a huge affair. As soon as you got onto the property, there were pumpkins as far as the eye could see. Big ones, little ones, orange ones, white ones, smooth ones, bumpy ones, painted ones, non-painted ones, just pumpkins... everywhere!!! It was very whimsical and I felt just like a kid again. Upon our arrival to Pumpkin town, the older kids split up from us and went off to do older kid stuff, while hubby and I had the two younger kids. I found there was a ton of fun activities to try out, for all age groups. (all of the activities were included in the price of admission, minus food goodies, kids' face painting and buying actual pumpkins) For the daring guests, you could get in on a nice game of human foosball... or maybe play a little game of bean bag toss? Or for the more laid back guests, you can hitch a ride on the "Hey Hey Hayride". (I totally heard Matthew McConaughey's voice) This was one of my favorite parts of our trip to Shuckles, because it reminded me of when I was a kid and my parents took me on hayrides each year. It was nice to be able to share this tradition with my own kids. I was very surprised at the amount of things there were for older kids and adults. There was an awesome tube slide the older kids lovvved. Micah wasn't too keen on trying it, but I couldn't get the teens off it. There was also a petting zoo for younger kids and Micah was totally in his element there... animals and mud. We saved the best part for last... navigating the corn maze... There were three entrances and you had to pick the right one... lucky for me, my husband has an amazing sense of direction and we made it out without incident. We had an amazing time at Shuckles and I will definitley be going back next year, to make more memories with the kids, even the older ones. If you are in the Nashville or surrounding area, I highly suggest you put Shuckles on your list of Fall activities to do with your kids.
