DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy of Toopy & Binoo to facilitate this post, however all opinions are my own. Being a "blog from home" Mom can be a daunting job. With all the normal daily stuff I have to do... cooking, washing clothes, doing dishes, cleaning up minor catastrophes and about a million other things, I also have my blog work to keep up with as well. To say there aren't enough hours in the day, is an understatement, so I have learned to be very creative with how I use my time and I am not ashamed to admit, I let Micah watch TV while I try to get some work done, be it washing clothes, or writing blog posts, the TV is my friend. Now, before you start writing me hate mail, telling me how bad TV is for kids' development and how it rots their brains and causes them to grow up to become serial killers, cool your jets, it's a minimal amount of TV time and it's not like I let him watch "Breaking Bad", I mean, come on, everybody knows it's been off the air for months. I kid. So, if not "Breaking Bad", then what do I let him watch?! Well, as much as I tried to persuade him to like the old school classics I loved as a child, Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, etc, it just didn't happen. He is more into the new stuff like Caillou (kill me now), Doc McStuffins (tolerable), Lego anything (not bad) and his new favorite, Toopy & Binoo. What the heck is a "Toopy & Binoo", you ask?! Toopy & Binoo is an animated series that follows the adventures of Toopy, a tall, funny and friendly mouse and his best friend Binoo, a tiny, clever and lovable white cat. Talkative Toopy loves to chat about their fun adventures and thoughtful Binoo keeps his lips zipped, but gets his point across with playful gestures and actions. The series inspires preschoolers, aged 2-6 to expand their creativity while reinforcing positive values such as friendship, good manners, creative thinking and humor. The show is funny, in an age appropriate way, Toopy & Binoo teaches children daily skills and encourages them to use their imaginations. I am not a big fan of the really immature cartoons that are out there right now, but this one is a winner. The episodes are short enough to keep their attention span, but long enough to fully tell the story. You can check out one of the 100 Toopy and Binoo episodes on youtube. After you get your fill of these adorable videos, you can join us for a Toopy & Binoo Twitter party hosted by @ResourcefulMom, for more info about the show and a chance to win tons of cool prizes, follow #ToppyandBinoo to join the fun, today, Thursday, Feb 2oth at 1:00 p.m.
