DISCLAIMER: I was provided with products to facilitate this post, however all opinions are my own and not biased by any complimentary product I received. I am ashamed to admit, but I have never made caramel apples... until last weekend. I always thought it would be messy and too difficult and I couldn't have been more wrong... about the difficult part, not the messy part, because they are kind of {very} messy, especially if you let two teenage girls make them. (which I did) Nevertheless, it's not about the mess, it's about the memories. Now Kaylee will not have to spend the next 25 years of her life wondering... "What's it like to make caramel apples with your bestie?", because she knows. All you need for this recipe is 28 unwrapped Werther's Original baking caramels, a few apples, (we used honey crisp, my favorite) and a splash of milk to thin the caramel a little bit. The Werther's are so easy to use and taste amazing in this recipe. You can also use them for making popcorn balls, which I did. (recipe coming soon) For full directions check out the printable recipe card below. stom HTML
