I am a sucker for any and all kitchen gadgets, so when I recently got the opportunity to check out a new product from Kalorik, I was super excited. Kalorik is a well known maker of fine kitchen appliances. They've been around since 1930 and are leaders in the industry... and they're the makers of my other favorite kitchen appliance... my food processor. The new product I was given the opportunity to try is called The Rollie Eggmaster. The Rollie is an innovative, fun new way to make eggs, but it can also make much more than that! The Rollie can also be used to make pancakes on a stick {with or without sausage inside}, it can do eggs and sausage, omelets, Rollie dogs on a stick and that's just to name a few. Using the Rollie is easy as 1-2-3... Spray the chamber with non-stick spray, pour the eggs into the chamber and wait for your eggs to rise from the chamber... Easy Peasy and clean-up is a breeze. Simply rinse out your Rollie with soap and water and give it a quick scrub with the enclosed brush and you're done! When I first got my Rollie, I was super excited to try it out and put it to the test. Enclosed in your Rollie kit, you will find... the Rollie itself, instructions and recipes, wooden skewers, a pusher rod and a cleaning brush. After reading the manual and recipes, I decided to try something easy at first, just to get the hang of it, so I tried plain eggs. I followed the instructions and it came out perfectly, so I decided to do something a little bit trickier... eggs with sausage in the middle. I sprayed the chamber with butter flavored non stick spray, cracked an egg right into the chamber and placed the frozen sausage (on a skewer, supplied with your Rollie) into the center of the cooking egg, set a timer for 4 minutes and I waited... the sausage and egg on a stick slowly started rising out of the chamber before the timer even went off and it came out perfect. I love that the Rollie is cool to the touch {on the outside}, in case your food doesn't rise up, you can coax it out with a little shake. The Rollie came with a great recipe book that suggested doing all kinds of great stuff, including pancakes on a stick... I took it one step further and came up withFunnel Cakes {on a stick}. I also used my Rollie to make omelets. I used 1/4 cp Egg Beaters, a spoon-full of finely shredded cheese, a sprinkle of finely chopped up yellow pepper, a small piece of imitation crab {torn into small pieces} a dash of minced onions and salt and pepper to taste. I poured the mixture into the Rollie and in 4 minutes, I had a beautiful omelet. Note: Do not overfill the Rollie, it will make a huge mess. If you do happen to overfill and your egg seems undercooked, let the food cook, when it rises up, take it out, flip it over and place it back in for another minute or so and it should be fine. Here's a fun video that explains everything about the Rollie you ever wanted to know, including how to buy your very own. Overall I love the Rollie Eggmaster, my only complaint is that you can only cook one item at a time and it can get rather lengthy {4-6 mins per item} if you're trying to cook for more than a couple of people. This is definitely not for a huge crowd, but perfect for a single person or if you're just cooking for a couple of kids. Speaking of kids, Micah loves eating anything I cook in the Rollie, simply because of its fun shape. Rollie is also great for dieters. The Rollie allows you to control your portion sizes and will work with an egg substitute, making wonderful egg white omelets, but you don't have to take my word for it... The nice folks at Kalorik, are giving one lucky reader their very own Rollie Eggmaster. Check out the easy entry form below to get your entries in. GOOD LUCK!!! DISCLAIMER:
