I am not at all ashamed to admit it, I love this truck! It was initially meant to be for Micah, but I think I have had as much fun playing with it as he has. This Road Rippers Monster Crushasaurus remote controlled truck from Toy State is an all around fun time for kids as well as "adults". With features like lights, sounds and music, it was a huge hit with my rowdy little heathen. I think the roaring sound is his favorite, but it also plays a little Rock n Roll riff and makes engine revving noises too. My favorite thing about the music and sound is the mute switch. After hearing the same song over and over, it's nice to know I can just flip the switch and turn it off or "let the batteries rest" as I tell Micah. He's only two and a half, luckily he's still pretty gullible. Another cool thing is, the motor and sound are on two separate switches, so you can mute the sound without disabling the motor... Score!!!

The day the truck arrived just so happened to be a beautiful day, so we put fresh batteries in that bad boy and headed out. The truck came with some "try me" batteries, but they recommend you replace them for best performance, so we did.

F.Y.I. The truck itself takes 6 "AA" batteries and the controller requires 3 "AAA".

I started out showing Micah how to do it, then I cut him loose in the back yard. The controller is very straightforward and easy to work. Up goes up, down goes down and the turning is controlled by letting off of the appropriate button... right or left and the button in the middle controls the lights and sounds, or you can push the button on the truck itself... two ways to play. We had a blast playing with the Monster Crushasaurus, especially when he started chasing me with the truck, laughing hysterically after running over my toes, because I didn't move quickly enough... I thought he was bluffing, I didn't really think he'd do it. This is his very first RC vehicle and I definitely think I have created a monster, he already has his eye on this wheelie motorcycle from Toy State too.

Check out the claws coming out of the tires for added traction.

The claw shaped remote is easy enough for a 2.5 yr old.
