We deal with things that most people won't even talk about; poop, puke, toilets, dirty dishes with God knows what on them and that slimy stuff, on the inside of the dishwasher, that you have to scoop out with your hands... yeah, not so glamorous. While it's not a very glamorous job, you can still look like a million bucks, even while scooping slime out of a dishwasher, with these fun and easy beauty tips for real women. So, you know that baby powder is good for preventing a diaper rash on your little one, but did you also know it's good for those days when "the struggle" is just way too real, but you still need to go out in public? Sprinkle a little bit, into your hand and rub it into your hair, at the roots, to get rid of that "I haven't washed my hair in 2 (or more {I'm not judging}) days", greasy look. It even works on darker hair, just make sure to rub it all the way in, so you don't look crazier than you would have, with just greasy hair. Baby powder is also great for stopping friction, in all those places that rub, like your thighs. Rub a little between them, before you go do any vigorous exercise, running, jogging or grocery shopping. Again, I'm not judging. I've also read that you can use baby powder to plump up your lashes, before applying mascara, but who really has time for that, on a regular day, I'm lucky if I remember to bathe and eat, mascara is not even on my radar most days. O.K., maybe you shouldn't toss them out, but definitely stop buying new ones. Everyone likes to look nice and feel their best, but why should it cost an arm and a leg? It shouldn't. Stop buying all those expensive face creams that promise you the moon, less wrinkles and a new job. All you really need is a good moisturizer and the rest is just extra. Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer and you can use it anywhere, literally. I use it on my lips, around my eyes and on my scratchy, ashy elbows. Yes, pasty white girls get ashy too. You can use coconut oil for all kinds of stuff; cuticle oil, hair conditioner, shaving cream substitute, sunburn relief and I've also read it can be used for makeup removal. It might sound simple, but sometimes, the best thing we can do, as women, is to make time for ourselves. With all the things we do, for everyone else, often the last person we think about, is ourselves. When I'm feeling stressed out, I like to sneak away and take a bath, grab a latte, take a minute and take a few deep breaths and sometimes, it requires a small amount of retail therapy. Granted, my idea of retail therapy usually just means I go grocery shopping by myself. I am not ashamed to admit, I enjoy a solo trip to Walmart every once in a while. When I get back, the kids will still be there... to help me get the groceries out of the car.
