Don't you just love those days when everything kind of seems to fall into place. When you wake up, know what needs to be done and you attack the day with vim and vigor. I love the rush you get from getting a few things crossed off your "to do" list... amazing! Well I am having one of those days, today. I woke up super early, which might not sound like a good thing, but it totally is when you get to take a long, hot bubble bath before the rest of the house awakens. After my luxurious bath, I still had a few minutes before the spawn woke up to spend a few minutes of quality time with the hubby. He works late shift, so we usually don't get to spend much quality time together. When the little one woke up, I fixed him some Smurf Berry oatmeal {regular blueberry oatmeal, but I call it Smurf Berry, 'cause he seems to think it taste better} and he ate it, without fussing or making a huge mess. {Angels singing a chorus of Hallelujah} It was then time to start the real business of the day... Taking all my cardboard to the recycling drop-off. Between review items and my regular daily stuff {cereal boxes, mac and cheese boxes, pizza boxes etc etc}, I have recently amassed a huge amount of cardboard. The only downside to getting a bunch of goodies in the mail, is the amount of cardboard boxes you end up with. I'm ashamed to admit, I have never really been a very eco conscious person, until recently. I don't know if it is because I'm getting older, or because I now have a little one around the house, but I have definitely started to think more about what I do with my trash and what kind of cleaners and household products I use. When I started to be more aware of my household purchases, the first thing I noticed, is the price of eco friendly cleaners and other products. The eco friendly version of the dish washing liquid I prefer was almost three dollars more than the regular version, which might not seem like much, but if you switched all your products, it can really add up, especially if your money is budgeted as tightly as mine is some months. Another thing that spurred my efforts to "Go Green{er}" was the amount of chemicals used in our products we use every single day. Did you know that your favorite beauty products, shampoos, shave gels and the like, contain parabens {preservatives}, which are known to be a leading cause of cancerous breast tumors. Most people don't know exactly what they're using on their bodies and in their day to day cleaning. “Increasing evidence shows that the chemicals included in everyday products could be contributing to children’s diseases and behavioral disorders, including asthma, autism and cancer,” says Gigi Lee Chang, CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World, one of the nation’s leading independent non-profit organizations dedicated to the empowerment of consumers and the protection of children from harmful chemicals. “Until the U.S. adopts better regulations around product safety—like we do in other countries—parents are left to bear the burden of protecting their children’s health by educating themselves and making conscious purchases. With the help of Walgreens Ology products, concerned consumers now have easier access to affordable and safer solutions.” “Walgreens is proud to be leading the charge by providing ‘Ology,’ the first nationally accessible and affordable line of household liquid products free of harmful chemicals available in our stores,” said Joe Magnacca, president of daily living products and solutions for Walgreens. “Ology reflects our dedication to innovation, our constant drive to improve our customers’ quality of life, and our ongoing commitment to help people get, stay and live well.” Walgreens is a name that I trust for all my drug and family care needs, so I was very excited to learn that they were now offering a full line of products that are free of harmful chemicals. The Ology line of products encompasses all your daily needs, from baby care products to light bulbs, Ology has you covered! Some of the amazing Ology products include.....
My Personal Experience With Ology Cleaners I was a bit cautious to try this cleaner, since some green cleaners I have tried before just didn't stack up, but I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised that this stuff worked as well as, if not better than the stuff I had been using previously. I decided to test the Ology all purpose cleaner on the toughest mess in the house... the dried on stuff that always ends up on the stove when I let my husband cook. Today, It appeared to be a mix of mac and cheese and something that had boiled over of unknown origin. I sprayed the Ology all purpose cleaner on the "stuff" and let it sit for about a minute then used a double sided sponge and wiped it away with very little effort and it all came off...I was shocked! I was also very pleased with the scent of the product. There was no caustic chemical smell or nose burning fumes like you usually have with the common ammonia containing products, just the light smell of Meyer lemon and lavender and at a price point of only $3.99 for a 26 oz bottle, you really can't go wrong. I will definitely be buying more Ology products in the future to replace my chemical laden counterparts. Ology is a proud member of the Healthy Child Healthy World initiative. Disclaimer: I was sent a Walgreen’s gift card for the purposes of obtaining Ology products to review. No other compensation was offered or received. No suggestions or requests to select specific products within the Ology line were offered. I was in no way obligated to write a positive review and all opinions are mine and mine alone.
