Being the Mom of a 3 year old boy affords me lots of opportunities. I often get the opportunity to get dirty after playing outside all afternoon. On rainy days (or those ending in "y"), I get the opportunity to flex my architectural muscle while building forts and tents. I have the opportunity to be the one who teaches a malleable, young mind all the colors of the rainbow, shapes, ABC's and 123's and all that good stuff, but one thing I don't get the opportunity to do very often, is just be a girl and put on make-up. Most weekdays, I wear little to no make up at all. When I do take the time to put on make-up (when the cable guy is coming or I'm expecting a delivery from FedEx), I usually only use powder or a lightly tinted BB cream along with some mascara and lip gloss. It's a very minimalist look, but it works for me. I have relatively good skin, in that I don't break out often and I don't have any major issues I need to cover, just a few little lines that I am beginning to become more and more O.K. with every single day. I am very fair complected and I have found if I use a heavy foundation type product, it looks awful on me and it looks fake and cake-y. With my complexion, I've found I do best with sheer coverage products. I recently had the opportunity to check out this cool new product from L'Oreal, their Magic Nude Liquid Powder. I have to say, this stuff is amazing. It will possibly change the way you think about make-up. I tried it out Sunday, before we went to go see Disney On Ice. I didn't have much time, so if this stuff hadn't worked I would've had to re-do my make-up in the car, which never ever ends up well. I started with a freshly washed & dried face and dotted a small amount of the liquid on my face, starting with my cheek and working my way around my face until it was all covered. I was very pleased with how fast the liquid seemed to dry into a sheer powdery finish. The product is very light and doesn't feel like it is weighing my skin down. It really does feel like a light powder. It is super sheer, so some women might want to apply two layers for a little more coverage. It didn't settle into the little lines around my eyes and it wasn't too far from my natural color to look fake or overly made up. It wore well, I didn't even have to touch up once throughout the day and it washed off easily that night when I took my shower. For my complexion, I chose #310 Light Ivory. I think it matches my skin tone perfectly. You can really see how light the coverage is, because my freckles are still showing through, which I am fine with, my Mom says they are just kisses from the Angels... I must be very loved. I am totally in love with this product, it will save me tons of time in the future.L’Oréal Paris Magic Nude retails for approximately $12.95 for 1 fl oz. It is available in 12 shades and is available at mass food and drug retailers nationwide. It only takes a few dots to cover your entire face, so a bottle should last you about a month, even if you use it daily. I received a complimentary product as a member of SheSpeaks.com.For more info and to join SheSpeaks, check out their website.
