I'd Like To Thank The Academy... My Liebster Award Acceptance Speech

So I was just sitting there, minding my own business, when it happened. That "ding" that alerts me to a new email message. I opened it and read it, as I would any message, It read... "Congratulations, you've been nominated for a Liebster award". My mind began racing... "Oh my God!", I thought. "I am finally being recognized for the literary genius I always knew I was"... "Who is Liebster, was he a famous author, inventor of the card catalog or something?" .... "What exactly IS a Liebster award, is it heavy, does it come with a snazzy banner to wear around my chest, better yet, does it come with a cash prize?". I drove myself crazy pondering all these things and it hit me... click on the link and see exactly what it is... so I did and here is what I found...

The Liebster, which means “dearest” in German, is a way for up-and-coming bloggers to demonstrate each others appreciation for what we do. It is very rewarding to see that people really enjoy and appreciate the work that goes into writing posts and the overall work and time that goes into blogging.

So, while there will be no cash prize, I DID get recognized for the "literary genius" that I told you, I was.

My 10 Questions & Answers:

1. What inspired you to blog for the first time?

Crock-Pot Greek Yogurt, yep, crock pot Greek yogurt... and a very good friend who had recently started her own blog. I was a freebie and Pinterest junkie and I figured I could use my blog to share some of the cool stuff I found, so I wouldn't be clogging up my friend's Facebook feed. A year and a half and eight thousand Facebook friends later, here we are. I have used my blog to write about everything from rape to One Direction and everything in between.

2. Who is your biggest blog supporter?

My husband and my Mom.

3. How do you make time to blog?

I don't. I just have to sneak it in, in between cooking breakfast, lunch, dinner, housework and bedtime.

4. Is there a topic that you absolutely WILL NOT blog about? Why?

Yes, Religion, because that is a very touchy subject and I don't like to be "that guy", the one who posts something controversial, just for page views.

5. What is your favorite comfort food, ever?

My Mama's potato casserole... hands down!

6. You have exactly one hour of childless, significant other-less, obligation-less free time. How do you spend that time (anything your heart desires). What if you had a whole day?

One hour.... I'd probably take a nap... try to anyways, but it would probably end with me laying there, worrying about where/what the family was up to.
Whole day... I'd probably spend it with my Mom, shopping at Kirkland's. Eating a nice lunch and then take a nap.

7. What is one thing you would do for your blog if you had unlimited resources?

I'd take my blog on a vacation to the beach!!!

8. What is your goal for your blog?

I just want to continue to grow my blog, provide funny stories, amazing recipes and make new friends.
