Well, here we are, the last few days of January and my New Year's "resolution" is going exactly as I knew it would... crappy! Honestly, I didn't really make any specific resolutions per se, I just tried to get myself into the mindset to try to stop slacking in some of the areas I knew I needed to pay more attention to... eating less sugar, getting out and about more, doing more hands on activities with Micah and try to get him more prepared for school if/when he goes. (I'm still not 100% sure I don't want to home-school).
It's not like I set out to fail, I mean, Who does that?! I just let life get in the way and the things I really need to take care of, (usually the ones that require a lot of time or energy) get pushed to the side. I have really good intentions, I just don't have the best follow through.
Around Christmas, I got a cool little activity tracker, the Misfit Shine. I was all excited to try it out and get in shape with the help of this little gadget, it was gonna be awesome. I was gonna give it my all, I was gonna hit the gym with hubby, I was gonna lose 20 pounds in a week... or so I thought.

About a week or two after getting the tracker, I lost interest, as I tend to do with most things that require a change or commitment on my part. It's kind of hard to stay motivated when you are exhausted and feel like a zombie most of the time, because you don't get enough sleep, because you have 80 thousand things to do in a day and by the time you get a fraction of them done, it's 1 am and you lay down, only to wake up 5 or 6 hours later only to get up and finish the remaining 40 thousand things you have left from the day before. Sometimes, it's like a bad "Groundhog's day" rerun around here, but I am determined to get in a better state of health.
I'm not one to set huge, unattainable goals. I don't usually weigh myself (unless I think I've lost a crap ton of weight). I determine success or failure as to which pants fit me and how.
I have three levels of pants...

My "going out" pants, the ones I wear when the hubby takes me out to eat or to the circus. They are super snug and make my best "ass"ets look amazing. I don't like to wear them more than 3 hours as they severely effect my ability to convert Oxygen into Carbon Dioxide.
I have my "house pants", I wear around the house, if I'm having company. They are a step above sweats and are super comfy, yet they look OK enough to wear in front of company.
Then I have my favorite pants of all... my "stretchy pants". I can wear them all day, every day for as many hours as I am awake and I have been known to sleep in them from time to time (3-5 nights a week during the winter). I have plain heather gray colored ones, black and whit yoga-ish ones, pink and blue hearts ones and a couple more random colors and I would probably cut someone over any of them.

I made a deal with myself, if I can get with the program and get back into this pair of "pre Micah" jeans, I have stashed away in my drawer, I would treat myself to something nice that I wouldn't normally splurge on.... a new pair ofYurbuds wireless headphones.
