I have a real love/hate relationship when it comes to holiday shopping. I love to go look at all the goodies, but I hate trying to decide what to buy each person on my list. I am plagued with... "What if it doesn't fit?"... "What if it's not their style and they hate it?" ... and don't get me started on the crowds! I have seen grown women cussin' each other over a baby doll. (No, I do not mean cursing, I'm from TN, it's "cussin'" down here) I've witnessed people getting out of their car to scream at other drivers, over a parking space. (I only did it that once and I felt horrible afterwards) I am very "green" when it comes to battling the holiday shopping crowds. I like to wait until the stores aren't as packed to do damage to my wallet or even better yet, shop online. For some things, the brick & mortar is the way to go, but I am so glad we have the online option nowadays. I only have a few really good girlfriends that I usually buy for and each year, I like to find one item I can get them all, that I know they can use and will absolutely love. Last year "the girls" got hand made, hand selected (by me) goodie boxes, full of girly bath items and nail polish and such. This year, it's thesebeautiful wrap-around watches from Jtv.

DISCLAIMER: This is a sponsored post written by me, on behalf of Invino. Have you ever wished you had your very own sommelier? Yeah, me too, because I am horrible at picking out my own wine. I'm pretty good at drinking it, but not so much for choosing it. Invino, the original private sale wine service, introduces Inclub, a wine club for the discerning palate. Inclub works off several different algorithms and develops a taste profile according to your preferences. You will have the ability to choose your frequency of delivery, as well as the amount and quality of wine you receive. You can choose to do it up one month with an expensive, rich Syrah, but the next month you might want a light, less expensive sparkling white wine... that's cool. Your choice. Want to drink nothing but champagnes in the summer or Pinot in the fall, no problem, Inclub will note your preferences and suggest wines accordingly. As I've gotten older, I have noticed a few little things that I'm not too excited about. I am 38 and as most women my age, I have a few little lines here and there, nothing major, just a few, but they are more than I would like to have.
My hair is not quite as thick as it once was and it's lost a lot of volume, especially since having Micah in 2010. Mind you, I'm not completely obsessed with my looks, or am I going to bug out over a few little lines, but why not do something about them before they get too bad to correct. I admit, I have a less than perfect beauty regimen. I don't always remember to wash my face before I go to bed, I don't always use sunscreen or wear a hat when going out in the sun, but I do have a few secret tricks I use to keep my skin in great shape, from the inside out. DISCLOSURE: I was provided with complimentary products to facilitate this review, however all opinions are my own. Elite Serum Rx is a unique blend of extremely effective, highly concentrated medical grade patented peptides & nature's most gifted moisturizers. It contains a proprietary blend of Argireline, SYN®-TC, SNAP-8, Eyeliss™ and four other potent compounds. Elite Serum Rx has been shown to lift and firm skin, fill expression lines, smooth fine lines, minimize eye circles and lighten dark circles. The main difference between this product and a product like Botox, is the unique formula of the Elite Serum is gentle enough to use in the very delicate area around the eye, where injectables just can't be used.Where is Elite Serum made? Elite Serum™ was scientifically designed and formulated by clinically trained cosmetic pharmacist Irwin Grams. It is manufactured in a state of the art 70,000 square foot facility in Miami, Florida. From the ISO 9002 laboratory to the production staff, all employees are all trained on GMPs, SOPs and all FDA rules and regulations. The facilities are subject to random inspection from the United States Food and Drug Administration, the State of Florida Health Department and the Department of Agriculture. Does it Work?! You can see from the pictures above, that it does work and I can personally attest to the fact that the skin around my eyes is definitely smoother and softer. Did all the lines around my eyes disappear? No, but I do feel like they are not as noticeable as they were before I started using the Elite Serum Rx. Luckily, you don't have to take my word for it, the nice folks over at SkinPro, makers of Elite Serum Rx andDNA Serum have generously agreed to give one lucky reader their very own set of products. DISCLOSURE: I am a member of the Gorton's Seafood blogger outreach program and I received free product to facilitate this post, however all opinions are my own. Being a full time, blog from home Mom, I often have to find shortcuts to get everything done, that I need to, during the course of the day. Example: If I'm tired at the end of the day, instead of folding the clean clothes, I'll just turn the dryer back on, before I go to bed, it de-wrinkles them so they will be nice and fluffy when the hubby needs them the next morning. You're welcome, hubby.
Another good time saver is, making a huge pot of pasta on Sunday and making the kids eat it for the next two days. While I am not a huge fan of heavily processed "convenience" foods, I am a fan of anything that will save me time in the kitchen and by adding a few fresh ingredients to your meal, you can be sure your family is eating good, healthy foods and still save yourself time. One of my favorite things about Fall in Tennessee, besides the beautiful trees and their changing colors, is the weather. It is just cool enough that you can snuggle up in your favorite hoodie, in front of a bonfire and roast marshmallows, but not so cold that it is unbearable.
The mild fall weather lends itself perfectly to one of my very favorite family activities... adventuring. Our adventures usually don't have a specific destination, no rhyme or reason. I like to pile up the heathens in the backseat of the car and just go "exploring". The best part of our adventures, is usually the journey...Dad is captain, I am navigator (and keeper of all things important) and the poor teens are just along for the ride, stuck in the back, kind of like Statler & Waldorf, (the two guys in the balcony on The Muppet Show) heckling Dad and I as we reminisce over the "good old days"... before we were parents of two teenagers. Our adventures are very low-key, we usually end up just driving through the nature park near our house. It's miles and miles of ups and downs and twisty, turny, narrow roads that are very heavily wooded. Often, we will get out and look at the deer, other times, we will use our geocaching app and look for hidden treasures. Geocaching is kind of like the techy guy's version of the TV show "American Pickers", where those two guys go around looking through old people's barns and find stuff to sell. For geocaching all you need is a smart phone with the app installed and a sense of adventure. Honestly, you'd be surprised at all the crazy, cool stuff that is out there, just waiting for you to find it. |
