As I've gotten older, I have noticed a few little things that I'm not too excited about. I am 38 and as most women my age, I have a few little lines here and there, nothing major, just a few, mostly from smiling and squinting but they are more than I would like to have. Mind you, I'm not completely obsessed with my looks, or am I going to bug out over a few little lines, but why not do something about them before they get too bad to correct. I admit, I have a less than perfect beauty regimen. I don't always remember to wash my face before I go to bed, I don't always use sunscreen or wear a hat when going out in the sun, but I do have a few tricks I use to keep my skin looking its best. *Your skin is made up of three main building blocks, Collagen, the main component of the dermis and gives it durability. Elastin, which gives skin (and other organs like the lungs and blood vessels) resilience and bounce and Hyaluronic Acid, which holds water and gives skin volume. In young skin, it is present around and between collagen and elastin cells. As skin ages, though, hyaluronic acid does not play that connective role, which explains the popularity of anti-aging treatments that inject it into the skin. For us needle-phobes and chickens, there's a better alternative, topical application. The old saying "great things come in small packages" is definitely true for this awesome collagen masque from NeoCell. It is the perfect product to use once or twice a week for a deep moisturizing treatment. I apply a light layer to my skin, leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes (it doesn't dry, so don't bug out if it stays on the skin) then wash it off. It isn't too greasy or heavy and feels amazing. NeoCell's Collagen Radiance Serum is an awesome every day product. It is light and absorbs quickly and is not at all greasy. The collagen+C Liposome Serum is made using time-release micro-capsules that penetrate the skin to deliver collagen stimulating ingredients and potent anti-oxidants where the skin needs them most. Fat-soluble Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and phospholipids containing essential fatty acids to enhance the skin's firmness, elasticity, and moisture. I have been using the NeoCell products for about a month now and I can't swear to it, but I actually think my skin has gotten a little smoother and it is most definitely more soft and supple. While I can't say that something miraculous has happened, I don't look ten years younger, my skin didn't return to the state it was, when I was 15, in 30 days, but I can say that since using the products, I feel like I look better and isn't that what really matters? The nice folks at NeoCell have generously offered to give one lucky reader the chance to win some of these awesome products for their very own. Check out the easy Rafflecopter form below. Good Luck!!! *Source

DISCLOSURE: I was provided with a complimentary product to facilitate this post, however all opinions are my own. I have always had a very unconventional nature. I always liked music no one else my age did, I liked clothes that were different, I always picked the "weird guy" to date and as I have gotten older, my tastes have remained very eclectic, but finding unique gifts can sometimes prove to be difficult. When I was given the chance to check out some cool, new eclectic gifts from the New Age Source Store, I was super excited. The New Age Source Store is your one stop shop for all things unique and new age-y. They carry a large selection of crystals and gemstones, candles, incense and oil burners, home and garden decor, meditation and prayer tools and they even have a large selection of tarot cards. After about an hour of indecision, I finally decided on this polyresin Troll Wall Plaque. This enchanting polyresin troll wall plaque features dotted mushrooms, intricately carved leaves and roots, and finely detailed facial features. He is super cute and whimsical and looks great in my bathroom. He looks great hanging alone or you can use him to display your favorite knick knack. If you have a "hard to shop for" person on your list, I definitely suggest you check out the New Age Source Store. DISCLAIMER: I was provided with complimentary products to facilitate this post, however all opinions are my own. Glitz, glitter and glam! Those are the first three words that come to mind when I saw these new Holiday looks from Mary Kay. Mary Kay is a name I have known and used for as long as I can remember and I am so excited to be able to share these Holiday looks with you. Whether you're a natural beauty or you like to jazz it up a little bit, there's definitely a little something something for you, in the new Holiday collection. Look 1: Flapper Chic Inspiration: Flirty and fun flapper style of the 1920s. Dramatic smoky eyes and neutral lips and cheeks balance an intense eye look. Look 2: The White-Hot Suit Inspiration: Sleek and sexy 1970s style; menswear-inspired but still feminine. A winged eye and red lip really give this look its signature "pop". Look 3: Silver Screen Siren Inspiration: Old Hollywood glamour of the 1940s; film noir; silver-screen starlet. Plum lips, shimmery eyes with a reference to violet tones in lip color and a subtle flush for cheeks make this sultry look. My Interpretation.... As with any masterpiece, you should start with a fresh, clean canvas. Mary Kay has an amazing oil free makeup remover, it's gentle on your skin, but it definitely gets the job done. Mary Kay also has some really nice face, lip and eye primer products, that really give you a flawless, professional look. Using the smokey eye palate from the Flapper Chic and the winged eyeliner & red lip from the White Hot Suit look, Kaylee created this awesome Holiday look. Isn't she just the cutest thing, EVER?! Taking inspiration from each of the looks, my model (who happens to be my beautiful daughter, Kaylee) came up with this look....While I wouldn't normally let her wear make-up this dark, it's still fun to play and have fun, isn't that one of the best things about being a girl?!

I admit, before I had Micah, I had fallen into the rut that most parents of teens do. Since their belief in Santa had ended years earlier (I still believe, for the record), Christmas had lost a little bit of its magic. We still celebrated and had fun, but it just wasn't the same as when they were younger. When I got to stay up all night wrapping gifts from Santa, when Christmas was still a mystery, before the kids got to pick out their own gifts or just wanted cash. Back when the look on their sweet little faces and the sound of their voices as they shrieked with excitement made their jerk-ish behavior the night before, because they were so exhausted from staying up all night trying to catch Santa, oh so worth it. Back when a jolly old fat guy could cause a change in their behavior, so fast it would make your head spin. Back when there was still wonder in the world, back before they were teens. When I found out we were expecting Micah, it was two days before Christmas, four days before our ninth wedding anniversary. It was our very own Christmas miracle. I knew right then and there my life would never be the same and it wasn't. Since having Micah, all the magic that I thought was long gone, has returned, even with the older ones. All the things that Moms love to do, baking the cookies, playing tooth fairy, Easter Bunny, Santa, all of that, I get to do it again and I am gonna do the crap out of it! Starting with a FREE video from PNP.
DISCLAIMER: I received complimentary media passes to attend this event, however all experiences and original snapshots are my own. Having lived in Nashville all my life, there are a few things that I have learned over the years... I know you don't go downtown on Titans home game day, I know you must check out 4th of July fireworks from Love Circle at least once in your life, I learned that even if you don't like country music, you can still enjoy the best music ANYWHERE, here in Nashville, I know that Edwin Warner park is a great place to go for a "Sunday drive" and I know it isn't really Christmas, until you've been to see the lights at the Opryland resort. This is the 30th year for theCountry Christmas celebration at the Opryland resort and if you live in or are planning to visit the mid south area, between now and January 1st, you owe it to yourself and the kids to check it out. Gaylorld's Country Christmas is known for their magical settings where families can share Christmas traditions and make new ones. The Country Christmas celebration features awesome musical shows, over 2 million, yes, million, with an "M", twinkling lights, beautifully decorated trees and amazing holiday decorations that are sure to make even the "bah-humbuggiest scrooge begin to feel the Christmas spirit. With shows from the Rockettes, the "A Not So Silent Night" concert series, a very"Christmassy" DreamWorks experience, featuring characters from Madasgar, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and you can even have a sticky, fun time atGingy's Gingerbread decorating. There are craft shows, photos with Santa, carriage rides, an outdoor nativity scene and more, but my personal fave isICE! and this year's theme is the cutest I've seen since the year they did the Grinch... Frosty the Snowman!!! |
