A Printer That Never Runs Out of Ink? #HPInstantInk

DISCLAIMER:  I was provided with a printer and a complimentary subscription to HP's Instant Ink service to facilitate this post, however all opinions & pictures are my own.
Have you ever gotten a new "gadget", brought it home, hooked it up, used it for one single day and then realized... "How in the world did I get through the last 30something years without this?!" That was my exact thought when I recently received a new HP Envy 5530 laptop printer with HP Instant Ink service, to check out.

I know, I act like I've never had a printer before, which is almost true. I've had two printers in my adult lifetime, the last one ran out of ink about 5 years ago and instead of buying new ink, I just stored it away in the closet.

Yeah, I know they sell ink at the store, but I never remembered to buy it and by the time I did, I really forgot I had a printer anyway. So, you can imagine my excitement when I got this fancy schmancy new one from HP. I was like a kid in a
candy store. I couldn't decide what I wanted to print first.

The first thing I noticed about this printer was the size. It is super compact and fits perfectly in the small space I call my desk (which is actually a re-purposed stereo entertainment center thingy).  I've been looking at yard sales for the perfect desk, but still can't find "the one", so for now, it's re-purposed music thingy. Note the size, by comparing it to my laptop, which sits nicely on top.

Don't let its size fool you, this awesome little gadget has all the features & functions you will find in the bigger models. It features an SD card reader, which allows for on board choice of pics, directly from your card. It also is a scanner, printer & photo printer.  It also connects wirelessly to any computer in your home. You can even print from your mobile phone (with the app).

The easy to use touch screen helps you navigate through the settings. From here, you can also choose to print one of several pre loaded pages... a calendar,  a checklist, graph paper, music paper & notebook paper.

The printables are probably my favorite function on this printer. With "printables", you can choose from things like Disney & Angry Birds coloring pages, menu planners, meal suggestions and many, many more cool things and they are delivered to you right then and there. This feature is perfect for Moms when you run out of stuff to keep your little ones busy. (Like every day)

The monster seems to be doing his job, I have had zero binder break ins.
This isn't just fun for kids though, it can be fun for Mom too. The very first thing I used my printer for, was to make this handy dandy blogger planner. I have been blogging for 2 years now and this is the first time I've used a planner, but now I can't live without it.  I'm definitely not the most organized person, (I can hear my Mom snickering from here) OK, I am not at all organized, but when it comes to my blog, I kind of have to be and having this planner has made my "job" so much easier.

I know not everyone needs to make a blogging planner, so here's a list of non blogging things you can do with your new HP Envy printer...
  • Scan & sign documents to a client through email, SD card or computer.
  • Print a fun Birthday card for your friend.
  • Make chore charts for your kids
  • Print coupons
  • Make a monthly calendar
  • Make a weekly menu plan
  • Kids projects at school
  • Tags for gifts
  • Homeschool worksheets
The list of things I can do with my new HP Envy all in one is endless, but how am I gonna remember to buy new ink every month... I'm not! With HP's Instant Ink service, I won't have to.

HP Instant Ink is the new service that delivers HP original ink to your front door, every month, before you even run out. With Instant Ink,  you can take "buy more ink" off your "to do" list.

Will I Save Money by Using HP's Instant Ink Service?

Absolutely! Depending on how much you use your printer, you can save upwards of $500 a year!!! Plans start at $2.99 a month for up to 50 pages and there are plans for more frequent printers with limits of up to 300 pages. (I probably used them all my first month, between the planner pages and Micah's homeschool worksheets and such)

Is it Difficult to Sign up?

Absolutely not! Enrolling is as easy as 1-2-3... simply purchase a qualifying HP printer, such as the HP Envy I mentioned above or one of many other models, find the printing plan that fits your needs, enter your pertinent info into the HP Instant Ink webpage, then you just wait for your cartridge to arrive (I think mine took about 5 days) and begin printing as usual. HP will do the rest.
HP Instant Ink
Each month, a box filled with HP original ink, info and a handy dandy recycling bag, will arrive at your door, right on time and without any effort on your part, which is more than I can say for most of the things involved with running a house. So, do yourself a favor and try Instant Ink for yourself, you will thank me!
