Can you believe it's almost Easter already? In less than three weeks, Peter Cottontail will be hopping down the bunny trail and kids everywhere (and maybe one adult in particular) will be in a state of diabetic coma from eating too much candy. I really get into Easter. The candy (especially thePeeps), the egg hunts, the pastel colors, the family traditions, all of it. I really like to decorate for the holidays, but due to our lack of ample storage space, I need to have things that can be used for multiple holidays, like this wreath, for example. I know it's Easter themed now, but I will show you an ingenious way to change it up, according to the holiday/season. DISCLAIMER: I was provided with promotional items to facilitate this post, however all opinions are my own. One of my favorite things to do, with my family, on the weekends, is to pile all five of us up in the car and head out on an adventure. Usually our "adventures" end up with us finding a new, funky thrift store, riding through the park, looking at the scenery or finding a new place to eat. Regardless of the activity, the best thing about "adventure time" is just getting to hang out with my hubby & kids and catch up on the "goings-on" in their lives. Especially the teenagers, they can be such hard nuts to crack, so any excuse to get them to talk and interact, is golden. According to research, eating together as a family, on a regular basis has some surprising health effects. Of course, sitting down to a family meal together with two teens and a 3 year old can also be a bit nerve wracking (and messy), but it's so totally worth it! In the spirit of family,Ryan's, Old Country Buffet & the entire Country Buffet family of restaurants have teamed up with the publishers of the new "Nancy Drew Diaries" & "The Hardy Boys Adventures" series of books, to bring you this fun giveaway. The books you may remember loving in your childhood can now be read with your own kids with a new look and suspenseful storylines and the books would make wonderful additions to any child’s Easter basket. DISCLOSURE: I will receive compensation for this “Kidstructions: How does it work?” contest blog post. American Home Shield partnered with several bloggers like me to raise awareness about this contest. All content is my own and reflects my personal opinion. For official Company contest rules, visit ahs.com/kidstructions. It never ceases to amaze me, all the funny stuff Micah comes up with, on a daily basis. Last week, he asked me if he could play "skeletons", thinking this was a new game he made up, as he often does, I inquired... "What is "skeletons"? Is it a game?". He quickly informed me, "skeletons" is not a game, they are "just tiny bones in your body", then he proceeded to laugh at me, because of my apparent lack of knowledge about "skeletons". Micah is constantly making up new games to play, "Moneyball", for instance. (One of the best games ever, in my opinion) Moneyball is easy to learn and can be played with any number of players. The directions to play "moneyball" are simple...
Hubby says we should start recording all the funny stuff Micah says and send it in to America's Funniest Home Videos to win their big cash prize at the end of the year, which would be all fine and good, but I am pretty sure that show is only airing reruns. Luckily, there is a way to try to win prizes for the funny stuff your kid says. I am excited to be working with American Home Shield, the country's leader in home protection plans, to tell you all about their new contest, Kidstructions: How does it work?! Starting now, through March 14, you will have a chance to win some awesome prizes, just for sharing a video of your kid explaining how everyday household items work. The funnier, the better. What Can I Win?!
