It's that time of year again! Time for all the kids to go back to school.
My Facebook news feed has been full of the sweetest pictures of friend's kids in their first day best, holding their little signs.... "First Day of School" I kind of got a little bit weepy, missing those days. I felt robbed of my own "precious moment". Steven graduated last May, Kaylee is a Junior and Micah is still too little to go to school, so I have no one to dress up in cute little uniforms and pat on the head and send out the door with their little sack lunch... or do I?! With all the evil things going on in or world today....Teens killing a young man, simply because they were bored. A "man" shooting kids as they sit in their classroom, learning. Innocent people being killed for what they believe, just because it's different from what others believe. It's truly hard to fathom the evil that lives around us in our world today. It's scary bad out there, so when I actually hear a story that restores my faith {a little} in my fellow human being, I feel the need to share it. I saw this on my local news this morning.... Several young football players walked into a store after it was closed. {not sure why the doors were unlocked, but whatever} They called out for a clerk, but never got a response. They walked around, choosing their items and then... here's the good part... THEY PAID FOR THEIR ITEMS... Tax and all... to the penny. In a day when most young people would rather shoot you in your face than look at you, it's so nice to see young people doing the right thing. Their mothers must be so proud. Sharing is Caring.... One of my favorite things about being a blogger is getting to try out cool stuff and sharing it with you guys. I was recently contacted by the nice gals over at Diamond Candles and they asked if I'd like to check out one of their candles and give one away to my readers... Heck Yeah...Sign me up! If you've never heard ofDiamond Candles, what rock have you been hiding under?! Diamond Candles are wonderfully scented, all natural soy candles that hide a treasure inside. Each candle comes with a ring, worth $10, $100, $1000 or $5000. There are currently 34 different Diamond Candles scents available including yummy scents like Vanilla, Birthday Cake, Watermelon, Strawberry Bliss, Peachy Mango, Orange Vanilla and other scents like, Midnight Kiss, Blue Lagoon, Miami Beach, and more. I had a tough time choosing just one, but finally decided on the Carnival Candy. I ordered my candle, {which was easy and painless} then sat back and waited for it to show up, about 5 days later, it arrived. It was packed very well and arrived unharmed. I immediately grabbed a lighter and lit that bad boy up... then I waited... and waited... and waited. It took about two days of burning it for at least 4 hours a day, before the ring was able to be extracted, which is exactly what it was, an extraction. I got a pair of scissors and dug the ring out, gently, as to not disturb the surrounding wax. According to a recent study by the A.C. Nielson company, the average family spends less than 40 minutes in meaningful conversation every week. I know life can sometimes be very hectic, between work, household chores {aka Mom's work} and school, we all need a minute to unwind and what better way, than with a family movie night!
With these easy tips, you too can have a stress-free, fun evening with your kids. {I make no promises, if you have teenagers, because we all know teenagers are crazy and subject to ruin a perfectly good evening, at any given time, for no apparent reason} DISCLAIMER: I was provided with a complimentary pair of shoes to facilitate this post. Being a kid is a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it. With any job, to do it right, you're gonna need the right tools. TinySoles has been providing kids with the right tools for over five years. TinySoles was founded when three Moms set out on a mission to find comfortable, developmentally correct footwear for their kids. They soon realized there were no stores like this in their area and the internet wasn't much help either. After several failed attempts to find quality shoes, sold by a knowledgeable retailer, they gave up looking and TinySoles was born. TinySoles is a one stop, online shop that provides the best selection of stylish and age appropriate kids shoes and accessories anywhere and I am so excited to have had the opportunity to check out these awesome hi-top shoes from KEEN. |
