I love my blog. It is full of all kinds of good stuff... recipes, funny stories, household tips and tricks, product reviews and fun giveaways, but at the beginning of the year, I re-evaluated what direction I wanted the blog to go in, for the future. I looked over some of my past content and realized I had tons of yummy recipes, but I didn't have very many fun, kid friendly activities. I found the super easy Kool Aid play dough recipe Micah and I made last year, but that was about it. So, I set out to find some easy, kid friendly craft projects, we could do and this is whet happened.... I found this adorable Valentine's Day project, by Laura at "Make Life Lovely", and for some reason, I thought I would be able to recreate it, using recycled pizza boxes, tin foil and glitter... Apparently, I was wrong. I tried to free hand the "X" and kept cutting to get the sides right and this is what I ended up with. On the bright side, I now know that pre-assembled craft kits are definitely the way to go.

Well, here we are, the last few days of January and my New Year's "resolution" is going exactly as I knew it would... crappy! Honestly, I didn't really make any specific resolutions per se, I just tried to get myself into the mindset to try to stop slacking in some of the areas I knew I needed to pay more attention to... eating less sugar, getting out and about more, doing more hands on activities with Micah and try to get him more prepared for school if/when he goes. (I'm still not 100% sure I don't want to home-school).
It's not like I set out to fail, I mean, Who does that?! I just let life get in the way and the things I really need to take care of, (usually the ones that require a lot of time or energy) get pushed to the side. I have really good intentions, I just don't have the best follow through. Around Christmas, I got a cool little activity tracker, the Misfit Shine. I was all excited to try it out and get in shape with the help of this little gadget, it was gonna be awesome. I was gonna give it my all, I was gonna hit the gym with hubby, I was gonna lose 20 pounds in a week... or so I thought. As I was wasting time, searching the internet for something to do while wasting time, I came across this really cool site with a crap ton of free images and I started thinking about all the cute stuff I could make and here's what I came up with... Vintage Valentine's Day cards that you can print from home. I know, it's a new idea that no one has ever thought of before. Ok, maybe not "no one", but whatever. I had lots of cute ideas, but they wouldn't format right, so I got mad and quit, but not before making these four gems... I like to think of my crafting abilities as somewhere between the level of Amy Sedaris and a cracked out Martha Stewart and right now, my "Amy side" says to glitter the crap outta these bad boys and I think I just might. In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't printed these out yet, but I am assuming they work, if they don't, I offer a full money back guarantee.

All opinions are my own and yours may differ. Having wild & crazy colors in your hair is nothing new. When I was a kid, we had to use Kool-Aid to dye our hair. It was extremely messy, but we didn't have all the fun options the kids have nowadays and I say "kids", not "girls", because even the boys are using wild colors in their hair. The Kool-Aid method is still around, but if you want the real vivid, bright colors, I recommend hair chalk. Using hair chalk can be intimidating, if you don't know what you're doing, but with a few simple tips, you can get some amazing results and the best thing is, it washes right out, no problem, no long term commitment and the colors are made from all natural, plant pigments. If you're interested in checking out the new hair chalking craze, Ellore Femme has an amazing deal right now on their 24 pc kit. You can score this kit for only $14.99 (just like in the picture below). For a limited time, my readers can save $30 Off Ellore Femme 24 peice Hair Chalk set with promo code BL15.
